  2. All details will be held by us in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
  3. The Cake Story will endeavour to do everything The Cake Story can, to accommodate your order; however The Cake Story work to a maximum number of cakes per week and will not compromise on quality by overbooking. Usually 6 months’ notice for Wedding cakes and 3 weeks for celebrations cakes is sufficient, but please book early to avoid disappointment.
  4. Cake Consultations are recommended for Wedding Cakes where The Cake Story offer a maximum of 4 cake flavours for a maximum of 4 people.  The cost of this service is £20.  Should an order be placed on the day, this cost will be deducted from the final balance.
  5. While The Cake Story take every measure possible to check orders, it is the responsibility of the customer to make sure the details on the order form are accurate. While The Cake Story will do everything The Cake Story can to rectify the situation when an error is made, the cake will be made as described on the order form.
  6. Once the order is placed the deposit (£100 for Wedding and 50% for Birthday/Special Occasion cakes) is NON-REFUNDABLE. Where the cake has been paid in full, and The Cake Story has been given 28 days’ notice, the balance less the deposit will be refunded. Where 14-27 days notice is given, 50% of the price will be refunded. After that no refund is due.
  7. You are welcome to amend your cake design at any time up to 30 days prior to delivery but such changes may be subject to re-quotation.
  8. The full balance should be paid 30 days prior to a Wedding, and at a time agreed upon booking for a celebration cake.
  9. Having your cake hand delivered gives us the responsibility of ensuring that your cake arrives in a perfect state and on time. Where any damage does occur The Cake Story will attempt to repair the damage, or ensure that a replacement is received. If this is not possible then a full refund will be given, our liability for such instances is limited to the value of the order.
  10. If you are collecting your cake, you will appreciate that once the cake leaves us The Cake Story cannot be held liable for any damage in transit. Please be aware that a flat surface is required to maintain the stability of the cake and should be secured where possible to remove the risk of movement in transit. If you are unsure as to the best way to transport your cake, please ask and The Cake Story, we’d be very happy to help.
  11. When preparing some cakes, especially larger ones, the cakes need to be in prep for two to three days before the event. The Cake Story will do everything to ensure that the cake is as fresh as possible, and depending upon the sponge, the cake will be good to eat for up to 4 days following the event, contingent to the cake being stored uncut, in a cool dry place.
